Throughout the conversation, the crisis counselor will ask clarifying questions and offer insights to help you process your thoughts. Interactions typically last between 15 and 45 minutes, and you’re in control the entire time. You don’t have to share anything that makes you uncomfortable. The sole purpose of the Crisis Text Line is to help you get to a safe place in the way that works best for you.
