The Mental Health Hotline is a resource for support and information. It is not a substitute for emergency services.

North Dakota has fewer mental health providers than its population needs. Federal shortage-area data show the state meeting only a fraction of the demand, which leaves many North Dakotans without quick access to care when they are struggling. A hotline can bridge that gap, buying time and easing the load until more complete care is in place.

Hotlines offer a place to talk when you need somewhere confidential to share what you’re going through, and they often know about resources in your area you haven’t heard of. Mental health difficulties are hard to address on your own, so reaching out is a real step toward the tools and coping skills that make daily life easier.

According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) , 150,000 adults in North Dakota live with a mental health condition, more than three times the population of Minot. The resources below are free to contact and open to residents statewide, whether you’re dealing with anxiety, low mood or something you can’t quite name yet. 988 is answered in-state, 24 hours a day.
