    NAMI–Idaho is the state chapter of a nationwide advocacy group that’s focused on the needs of people with mental and behavioral health issues.   • Idaho 211
    Idaho 211 is a free statewide helpline that offers referrals and useful information about mental health issues in Idaho. Calls to the helpline are confidential, and counselors are available to answer questions 24-7.   • Behavioral Health Response Team
    The Behavioral Health Response Team is a joint collaboration between the Boise Police Department and local nonprofit agencies that answers emergency calls that may implicate a mental health issue. Sworn police officers on the mobile crisis unit in Boise are trained to recognize the signs of a mental health emergency, and the counselors who ride along can perform an on-the-spot needs assessment and act as a person’s first contact with mental health services when they’re in crisis.
